Leveraging the custom CMS powering HBOMax.com, I acted as the UX Lead supported by two UI designers and our in-house motion studio. Together we built out a site to engage advertisers to buy spots on Ad Supported HBO Max. This project emphasized rich storytelling, prioritized conversion, and resulted in a beautiful and high performance website with zero development needed.
Wireframing - Step 1
After a comprehensive competitive audit, and collaboration with the Ad Sales team on exactly what we wanted the site to convey, a story blocking exercise was started to get a rough layout of each page as well as the intention behind each website “band”.
Wireframing - Step 2
After locking a general layout and story, the website was starting to take shape. As the story became clearer, I collaborated with the Ad Sales team to start ironing out the copy as well as rough module visualizations and layouts, paying special attention to adhere to the limitations of our CMS.
Final Wires + Copy
With the message behind each page locked, all that was left was making sure each section was fleshed out enough to be tackled by the UI designers and motion teams I was working with. I collaborated directly with them every step of their process to ensure the vision was properly realized, breaking down each section as seen below with key beats, callouts, and creative direction.
UI Design + Implementation
Below are the final designs that I worked with the UI team to create. Each page has multiple associated videos, sales PDF’s, and link outs to create a comprehensive story as to why HBO Max with ads is one of the most compelling ad buys in the market right now. After all assets were locked I was personally responsible for building out the site in our CMS. View it here.
